Everyone will vote at Swampscott High School - 200 Essex St

 

What hours are the polls open on Election Day?

The polls are open from 7AM to 8PM

What is the deadline to register to vote and be eligible to vote in this Election?

The deadline to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the April 30, 2024 Annual Town Election is Friday, April 19th, 2024 by 5 pm

 

How can I register to vote?

  1. Register Online: Register through the online Voter Registration System on the Secretary of State's website

  2. By Mail: Download the Mail-In Voter Registration Form from the Secretary of State's website. Print out the form, sign it, and return to the Town Clerk's office in person or via mail to 22 Monument Ave

  3. In Person: Visit the Town Clerk's office at 22 Monument Ave, first floor

Visit the Secretary of State's website or the Town Clerk's office during business hours

Can I Vote by Mail?

Yes! Everyone can vote by mail, no excuse needed

 

How do I obtain a Vote by Mail Application?

  1. Online: Download and print the paper Vote by Mail Application to complete and return to the Town Clerk's office
  2. In person: Visit the Town Clerk’s office at 22 Monument Ave to fill out an application to receive a ballot by mail
  3. Request an application be mailed to you: Request an application to be mailed to you by calling the Town Clerk's office at 781-596-4167, emailing clerks@swampscottma.gov, or sending a letter with your request and address

Applications must be RECEIVED by the Town Clerk's office by 5 pm on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024

 

How do I return my Vote by Mail Application?

  • By mail: Mail your completed application to:

  • By email: Scan or send a photo to clerks@swampscottma.gov
  • In person: Return to the Town Clerk's office at 22 Monument Ave or utilize the drop-box outside Town Hall which is available 24/7

Applications must be RECEIVED by the Town Clerk's office by 5 pm on Tuesday, April 23th, 2024

 

How do I return my Mail in Ballot?

All mail in ballots are returned to the Town Clerk's office at 22 Monument Ave

  • In person: Return to the Town Clerk's office during Town Hall business hours or drop in the drop box outside Town Hall
  • By mail: Mail to the Town Clerk's office: 22 Monument Ave. Swampscott, MA 01907

Ballots CANNOT be returned to the polls

 

What is the deadline to return my Mail in Ballot?

Ballots being returned by hand-delivery, mail, or drop box must be received by the Town Clerk's office by 8 pm on April 30, 2024

 

Will there be early in-person voting for this Election?

Yes, these are the following hours:

  • Saturday, April 20:               11:00am to 5:00pm
  • Monday, April 22:                 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Tuesday, April 23:                8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Wednesday, April 24:          8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Thursday, April 25:             8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Friday, April 26:                    8:00am to 12:00pm

 

If I'm allowed to vote in person and by mail, won't my vote be counted twice?

NO. Your ballot is tracked electronically the day it comes in. Once a mail-in ballot or in-person ballot is received, no other ballots from that voter will be accepted. There is no way for votes to be counted twice

 

What positions are on the ballot for this Election?

The following elected offices will be on the ballot:

Vote for ONE MODERATOR - 1 Year Term
Vote for ONE SELECT BOARD members - 3 Year Terms
Vote for ONE BOARD OF ASSESSOR member - 3 Year Term
Vote for ONE SCHOOL COMMITTEE members - 3 Year Terms
Vote for ONE TRUSTEE OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY member - 3 Year Term
Vote for ONE BOARD OF HEALTH member - 3 Year Term
Vote for ONE PLANNING BOARD member - 5 Year Term
Vote for ONE HOUSING AUTHORITY member - 5 Year Term

As well as Town Meeting members in each of the 6 precincts
