The Zoning Board of Appeals is appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Board shall have the power to hear and decide applications for special permits, including without limitation, dimensional special permits, site plan special permits, and any other special permits permitted under the Zoning By-laws. The Board serves as the special permit granting authority in most zoning relief situations.

Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, upcoming meetings of the Zoning Board of Appeals will be conducted via remote participation using the Zoom platform. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but the public can listen and/or view the meeting while in progress. Meeting agendas will specifically note how to access each meeting.
Members of the public attending virtually will be allowed to make comments during the portion of the meeting designated for public comment. Members of the public who would like to submit written comments prior to the meeting may do so by emailing Marissa Meaney (email@example.com). (Please note that written comments should be recieved by 4 pm the day prior to the meeting.)
