Natural Resources
Goals and actions in the Natural Resources focus area target equitable access and protection to open spaces, tree canopy, habitats, and water resources through resilient infrastructure and land stewardship.
Taking Action
The Tree Committee planted 75 trees in 2023 to replace those lost to damage or age and a focus on native species to increase diversity in our tree canopy.
Purchase of land at Archer Street by the town as conservation land creates permanent open space for all to enjoy.
Creation of a new native pollinator garden (by Girl Scout Troop 72182 and the Swampscott Conservancy) at the town-owned property at 86 Burrill Street (Anchor Food Pantry) which continues to build biodiversity and migration pathways across town.
