The scope of work for the base bid consists of improvements to Orchard Road. Work on Orchard Road is proposed to include full sidewalk reconstruction from Nason Road to Humphrey Street, excepting for the section near Whitman Road, including the installation of curb extensions and pedestrian curb ramps. The sidewalks are proposed to be constructed in cement concrete with granite curb. Catch basins, pipe, fire hydrants (relocations), and areas of loam and seed are proposed to be installed where shown on the plans or as directed. The roadway is proposed to be milled to depth of two (2) inches and resurfaced with a two (2) inches of hot mix asphalt surface course over an asphalt leveling course (where required to meet design grade). A raised intersection is proposed to be installed at Nason Road. Pavement markings and signage, including the installation of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) at the Humphrey Street intersection are proposed.
