Officer Tom Lucas's Funeral Information

Swampscott Police Officer, Thomas Albert “Luke” Lucas, age 46, of Swampscott, died on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Salem Hospital, following a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Nancy L. (Aschauer) Lucas of Plantation, FL and the late Anthony E. Lucas. Born in Hollywood, FL, in 1977, he was raised and educated in Hollywood and graduated from Hollywood Hills High School in 1995, where he played varsity football. He went on to play football at Dean Jr. College and later attended Salem State College. Luke was sworn in as a Police Officer for the Swampscott Police Department in October of 2002 and was a member of the Swampscott Police Union, Local 417. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Miami Dolphins, the Boston Red Sox and the Florida Marlins and helped coach his son’s middle school football team. He was an excellent cook, enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling to warm climates with his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his sons and his pet cats and dogs.

In addition to his mother Nancy, Thomas is survived by his loving sons, Kyle and Dylan Lucas both of Swampscott and their mother and his former wife Julie (Feinberg) Lucas; his longtime partner Marisol Alejandro; his twin brother Anthony Lucas and his wife Karosla of Oakland Park, FL; his aunt and uncle Jennifer and John Ziegler and his beloved pets, Astro, Mr. Toots and Poo Bear.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 7p.m. in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt. 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7p.m, prior to the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter at www.northeastanimalshelter.org.
