SEPTEMBER 1ST STATE PRIMARY ELECTION INFORMATION

Secretary Galvin recently mailed to every voter registered as of July 1, 2020 an Official 2020 Vote by Mail Application (postcard) which allows you to request an Early ballot for a specific election or all elections in 2020.  If you check off all elections for an Early ballot or Absentee ballot application, you will automatically receive a ballot for the September 1st AND November 3, 2020 Presidential election, no need to do anything further.  Independent voters for the September 1st State Primary must declare a party, please notate such on your application.  All registered voters may vote early prior to Election Day, No Excuse needed!  Early Voting will begin on August 22nd through August 28th!

PRECINCTS 1 & 2:              SWAMPSCOTT SENIOR CENTER, 200 (Rear) Essex St.

PRECINCTS 3 & 4:             FIRST CHURCH CONGREGATIONAL, 40 Monument Avenue.

PRECINCTS 5 & 6:              SWAMPSCOTT MIDDLE SCHOOL, 207 Forest Avenue.

The Deadline to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the Sept. 1st State Primary is no later than August 22nd.  The Swampscott Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall will be open for a voter registration session on Saturday, August 22nd from 9am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. 

If you vote in-person Early at Swampscott Town Hall or at the polls on Election Day please wear a mask and bring your own pen.  One will be provided to you if you do not have one.  Social distancing will be expected and enforced while voting in-person. 

Please note, If you cast your vote early you may no longer vote at the polls on Election Day.

Early voting will make the most fundamental right of our citizens more convenient.  We encourage all our citizens to exercise that right and take advantage of the opportunity to vote especially now!

Early or Absentee ballot application requests can be dropped in the Swampscott Town Hall 24hour box, hand delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office Monday, Wednesday or Fridays, E-mailed to elections@swampscottma.gov or mailed regular U.S. Mail.

The deadline to submit a Vote by Mail ballot request for the Sept. 1st. State Primary is no later than 5PM on Wednesday, August 26th.

The deadline to request an Absentee ballot is no later than noon on Monday, August 31ST.

Ballots can be returned via Town Hall 24hour drop box, in-person at the Town Clerk’s Office or mailed regular U.S. Mail.  All ballots must be returned no later than Election Day.

The 24hour ballot box is checked/emptied frequently throughout the day.   A larger secure 24Hour ballot box will be available soon!

Your voter resources such as Register to Vote Online, Are You Registered, Early or Absentee ballot applications, View My Ballot, Where Do I Vote, Track My Ballot and mail-in voter registration forms are available on Secretary Galvin’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us/

PLEASE DON’T WAIT, CHECK YOUR VOTER STATUS EARLY!
